lets go outside!

At everyone's request  we got a taste of
                                              summer  yesterday!
We had      hang-a-brrrs (hamburgers on the grill! I love the way my 2 year old-almost-a 3  year-old-{sniff } calls them,   you know,  these things don't last forever, so, find a way to remember their cuteness!)
They also wanted to eat them outside.. "ofcourse, go ahead!"

The enthusiasm is mounting up to get outside to learn too!
Today we learned about  the  green jay.  listen

Did you know there was a green jay too? Well, he lives in southern Texas
            and Northern Mexico.

Now we are hoping to find the blue jay, who lives around here.. soon...  listen
This is a great way to get outside! I love to learn with my kids! Look for lots more discoveries this spring and summer! A long, cold  winter makes life outside even better!

The weather is so fickle! Temperature gauge this morning  is 36 degrees. That doesn't stop all of the kids though..some are heading out now.. some like past the 40 degree mark and sunshine
to be out trekking..  maybe this afternoon..
reading, and math to finish..

LOL! The time it took me to finish this, one child came back in.
I asked "back so soon?"
Her reply.. and the way she said it made us laugh..
"I don't like to be shivered and cold.."
then she puts her cold hands on me..
Well, you can't wear a summer jacket and
short sleeves...

Are we out of hot cocoa?

Yet, one more addition to this post..
the 6, and 8 year old come back in...
"mom, we just saw a beautiful bird on the fence!
I wish I had a camera, where is the bird book?"

That's exactly what I want to hear!

(no, I don't let my kids use my camera.. yes, she is very interested in photography,
and will be getting a camera for her birthday.. coming up soon!)
