Most days, probably like most moms...
I look at my day and could write a long list..
Everything from chores to teaching them.
Time with each child-
Time with God-
time with the one I married-
time with friends-
"ME" time-
I have a list of things to fix,
things to bake
and cook up and stock up meals
in the freezer..
so many things I want to read for me,
crafts to do,
classes to take,
family books to read...
laundry..
When I start to jot it all down..
I will start to see so much
undoneness..
and feel like I am failing
and start to compare...
The truth is, I am not a superhero..
Jesus only had 3 years to get done what God had for him..
there were so many more things He could have done...
the list would be still going on today!
Doing a bible study this week,
I was relieved to read this..
And what should be at the top of my little list each day?
Well, sometimes each day may be different..
a baby- who is only a <precious> baby once, may need the most care one day,
another day.. I see I need to spend time with my girl who is really taking off
on her reading..
the next day.. we may need to read together lots
or play a game! Or work on other skills..
take those nature walks,
make some apple muffins!
have hot cocoa...
and get out some fresh white paper
and fill it with color!
So what I am "supposed" to do..
is not based on what everyone else is doing...
What will bring me the freedom, joy and fruitfulness in my life?
Retreat to the simple things..
only do what I can do.. knowing that is all that I am required to do.
To remember to have a "Mary" heart.. When the kids are gone
the house will then be clean and quiet!
I love what is entrusted to me..
it is not too much..
I am privileged...
Thank you, GOD.
